Bridget Accetta

Owner/Instructor/Choreographer

I have danced since I was 5 years old. I grew up with the love of dance. I have owned and operated or worked in studios for twenty years. I have taken many seminars from several professional dancers such as: Al Gilbert, Darryl Retter, Joe Tremaine. My goal is to pass on to my students the love I have for dance! I don’t look at dance as my job, I look at it as an opportunity to help others grow through music, dance, and acting!

I have been dancing since I was 4 years old-I pretty much grew up in a studio! I have taken many different seminars, and I recently became certified in acrobatic arts! I have even traveled the country performing with a drum and dance troupe! I always knew that dance was my passion and that it would always be a major part of my life. I look forward to going to work every day, and strive to provide a fun learning environment. I am blessed to love what I do and to be a small part in the spreading of the joy of dance!

My passion for dance ignited while performing at The Whiting Auditorium, and it has been an integral part of my life ever since. Starting at 2.5 years old, I quickly fell in love with dance. I then ventured into the competitive dance world, where I lived for Competition season and Nationals. My journey as a dancer naturally led me to discover my love for teaching. Throughout my teaching career, I have witnessed incredible growth in my students, from their first cartwheel to mastering layouts and fulls, winning choreography and performance awards. Over the years, I’ve had training in Acro (my favorite), Jazz, Allstar Pom and Cheer, Tap, Ballet, Cecchetti, Lyrical, Contemporary, and Competitive Gymnastics. I’ve had the privilege of working with several local studios and school teams.

In addition to the incredible experiences and achievements, dance has brought me lifelong friendships. One of my most special friendships is with my duet partner, which started in first grade and has grown through the years. One of the best parts of the dance is who you dance with.

Balancing a full-time job, teaching dance three days a week, pursuing a dual MBA/MSA degree, managing my photography business, and enjoying downtime with my husband and two dogs, my life is a constant juggling act. However, the dynamic and supportive atmosphere at MBSD makes it all worth it. The talented teachers and passionate students are second-to-none, and I am grateful to be a part of MBSD for the second year and look forward to the many years to come.

My love for dance began around 18 years ago at Ms. Bridget's School of Dance, where I built a strong foundation in tap, ballet, contemporary, jazz, hip-hop, African, and belly dance. Tap quickly became my true passion, opening the door to countless opportunities for growth and inspiration. I spent five years training with Tapology, a nationally recognized program based in Flint, Michigan, where I improved my technique and expanded my knowledge of tap. Over the years, I’ve continued to develop my training by attending numerous tap festivals across the state, staying both inspired and challenged. I’ve had the privilege of learning from some of the most respected professionals in the tap community, including Jason Samuels Smith, Kelsey Rose Young, Maud Arnold, Sarah Reich, and the Bradley Family. Currently, I am a proud member of Detroit Tap Repertory, where I train, travel, and perform to share the joy of tap with others. Learning from such talented mentors and peers has fueled my creativity and supported my transition from dancer to instructor. I’m thrilled to bring my energy, experience, and love for dance into the studio. While I specialize in tap, I’m also excited to begin teaching other styles to help cultivate well-rounded dancers. My goal is to ignite the passion within each dancer and create a safe and encouraging space where they can learn and perform with utmost confidence and joy. I’m honored to be a part of each dancer’s journey, and I look forward to helping them grow not only as performers but as strong, confident individuals.
